World Heart Day (29 September, 2014)



World Heart Day is celebrated all over world; yesterday 29th September, 2014 was WORLD HEART DAY. But, do you know why it is celebrated every year? When was this day given name of World Heart Day? What is aim of celebrating this day? On what date, in which month and in which year this day is celebrated?


Do not worry, do not get surprised; if you do not know answers to above questions. World Heart Day is celebrated every year by World Heart Federation and all over World by various health organizations, hospitals. First celebration, when a day from a year is given a name of World Heart Day by World Heart Federation; which is non-profit Health Organization occurred in year 2000.

World Heart Day since then, is celebrated every year world over. Yes, first time in history, world heart day was celebrated in year 2000 in month of September on last Sunday of September month; which was on 24 September, 2000. Yes, first world heart day was celebrated in history on day 24 September, Year 2000. After year 2000, World Heart Day is celebrated every year on last Sunday of month September of every year world over.

But as of year 2011, World Heart Federation has changed this criterion, and since year 2011, it is now celebrated every year on 29 September of each month. Celebrating this day is to make people aware as much as possible about present prevalent criteria of heart diseases; how we can prevent them treat them. National camps, running marathons are organized to mark celebration of this very important heart health related day.

Now question is, why do this day World Heart Day is celebrated? What is aim of celebrating this day? This day is celebrated every year, to spread awareness about heart health, promote heart health and to aware people about prevalent criteria of heart diseases that about 80% of deaths especially in premature age occur from heart diseases and stroke. Awareness is spread on this day, also about; how we can prevent deadly heart diseases.
