The day it was announced that LASIK surgery for eye cataract is
much better than conventional eye surgery, there born a myth along with this
among common layman population, that it is solution for every body's eye cataract. Yes, it is a myth that LASIK surgery can solve cataract problem of
every body's eye.
Yes, it does not suit everybody. Yes, there are certain people
with certain disease conditions, due to which LASIK eye surgery does not suit them. What are these conditions, due to which LASIK surgery does not suit to certain
peoples?
The conditions due to which LASIK surgery does not suit to certain
people are-
1) People who are below age of eighteen years cannot have benefit of
LASIK surgery for their eye problems, as their eyes cannot withstand the operative treatment of LASIK surgery. It is better if patient is above 20
years of age.
2) With infection in background- If there is certain kind of
infection, then LASIK surgery result would not be as good in these people. In fact, it
will complicate there condition further.
3) Dry eye syndrome is another black story due to which LASIK
surgery does not suit cataract sufferers who also have dry eye syndrome co-occurring. It is condition for LASIK surgery for cataract that cataract suffering person should not
be dry eye syndrome sufferer because it will aggravate his dry eye condition
further.
4) If a patient is suffering from any corneal pathology, then
LASIK surgery is big no for them, because it will result in further complications, instead of removing cataract.
5) If a suffering person does not have stable refraction for 12
months, it keep on fluctuating and not a single time found constant for 12 months, then there is no use of doing LASIK surgery in them. It will complicate
their eye disease conditions further.
6) LASIK surgery does not remove all eye problems after its operative
treatment. There are certain disease conditions which remains as side effect of LASIK
surgery, even after correcting the disease eye condition for which this surgery was done.
And, these side effects are dry eye syndrome, fluctuating vision with eye
complaints aggravating at night.
