Why Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids are Considered Heart Friendly Fatty Acids?



Polyunsaturated fatty acids are considered not only heart friendly fatty acid but also are one of the type of unsaturated fats. Unsaturated fats you all know are one of the type of fats and polyunsaturated fats are their subtype. 

Polyunsaturated fats are mostly liquid at room temperature just like monounsaturated fats are; they are found in oils like soybean oil, corn oil, safflower, also in some nuts, some particular seeds and sunflower oil. Polyunsaturated fats are further of two sub-types which are, firstly, omega 3 fatty acids and second type is omega 6 fatty acids both of which are very good for your heart.

So, that was in brief regarding polyunsaturated fatty acids. Now, question of article was, "Why polyunsaturated fatty acids are considered heart friendly fatty acids?" Polyunsaturated fatty acids are considered heart friendly fatty acids because of following reasons-

1) Number one reason why polyunsaturated fatty acids are considered heart friendly, heart health improving fatty acids is because of fatty acids named omega 3 fatty acids and omega 6 fatty acids which are essential fatty acids which keep your heart health good and prevents diseases. Essential fatty acids are not synthesized in body; they are to be supplied from outside through diet and polyunsaturated fats are their richest store house.



2) Polyunsaturated fatty acids also prevents and cures diseases like myocarditis, carditis, vascualitis, endocarditis, in short any inflammatory disease of heart. This is because, they got anti-inflammatory properties. Due to these anti-inflammatory properties they are capable of reducing not only risk of various inflammatory diseases of heart but also helps in curing them to huge extent.

3) Polyunsaturated fats are also capable of improving heart health by lowering your blood cholesterol especially LDL, low density lipo-protein, which imbalance the heart health. LDL are very killer element for health; as increased LDL level predisposes and causes hyperlipidemia , hypercholesterolemia.

4) Poly unsaturated fats also regulates blood pressure of human body; as it is capable of lowering blood pressure. Therefore, people having chronic hypertension must include it in their diet to bring blood pressure back to normal range by lowering their chronically increased level.


5) Poly unsaturated fats also prevents artery blockage especially coronary artery disease, different heart diseases for example, ischemic heart disease, heart attack, heart stroke, myocardial infarction, arrhythmia, tachycardia, bradycardia, diabetes. 

6) It also reduces risk of suffering from and also protects human body from vascular diseases like, arteriosclerosis, arterosis, vasculitis .
