6 Harms of Consuming Fruits at Night

It is very often told in health discussions that everybody must consume fruits. They are good for health. They supply all the essential minerals and vitamins. But, do you know that they should be consumed only in day. The reason for it is that there are harms of consuming fruits at night. Those harms are for example, calorie overload, weight gain and diarrhoea. Like that there are around 5 harms of consuming fruits at night. Lets have a look at each one of them in detail.

Right way to consume fruits is only in morning and afternoon time of day. They should neither be consumed in evening nor at night. It will be best if you consume fruits before morning breakfast and before afternoon lunch. That will prevent-
  • Excess consumption of calorie fatty food.
  • Helps in weight loss.
  • Improves digestion by contributing fiber to food.

5 Harms of consuming fruits at night

1) Cause diarrhoea-

Consuming fruits at night will cause diarrhoea. This it do because of overload of fiber. Human body cannot digest 3 times supply of fruits unless you are pregnant. That will definitely cause diarrhoea.

2) Aggravates problem of acid reflux-

If you consume fruits at night, it will overfill stomach. At night you will do nothing than sleeping. Body in sleep mode needs light food. When you are sleeping at that time you are not working. When you are working in day, at that time your fruits as well as your meal gets digested easily and used up. At night, just opposite happens. At night, consumption of citric fruits will become acid in stomach whole night. That will cause acid reflux.

3) Cause weight gain because of calorie and sugar overload-

Fruits contain natural sugars. No doubt, they are healthy for body, being natural. But, these natural sugars from fruit when consumed at night, cause calorie and sugar overload. Calorie overload happens from fruits like banana that contain few calories. When consumed at night with dinner, it add more calories to total calorie count consumed at night. Same thing it do with sugar amount. Natural sugar from sweet fruits consumed at night get added to total calorie consumed at night from dinner. Therefore, it do overload of both calories as well as sugar at night. That overload is stored in form of excess weight in body, causing weight gain.

4) Increase glycaemic index and blood pressure-

Fruits consumed at night raise glycaemic index. At night, body does not do any work. Anything you consume at night get stored after catabolism of that thing. Therefore, extra sugar from sweet fruits get added to that come from catabolism of dinner meal. That extra addition raise glycaemic index of body. Similarly, extra sodium from fruits get added to that of meal. That extra additional amount of sodium raise sodium level in body. That is sufficient to raise blood pressure.

5) Cause insomnia if eaten before sleeping-

Fruits cause insomnia when consumed at night. This is because of diarrhoea and bloated feeling caused by them at night. Because of insomnia at night, body does not feel refreshed in morning. Because of that un-refreshment person feels fatigued whole day.

6) Cause irritable bowel syndrome-

Usually, fruits consumed in day relives you from constipation in morning. But, fruits consumed at night cause fiber overload. That fiber overload is not used as much at night, as much it is used in day. That unused fiber do irritable bowel syndrome.

Conclusion-

If you consume fruits in day, it will cure problems that their consumption do at night. The reason for causing problem at night is overload of nutrients. That overload is not used at night that much as much is used in day. That unused overload of nutrients at night cause above 6 harms.
