Chronic Pancreatitis


Chronic pancreatitis is a disease of pancreas in which there occurs chronic inflammation of pancreas.


Causes-

1.      Alcohol intake on chronic bases.
2.      Cholelithiasis.
3.      Sphincter of Oddi stenosis.
4.      Sjogren’s syndrome.
5.      Hereditary or genetic predisposition.


Symptoms-

1.      Recurrent abdominal pain radiating to chest or back.
2.      Diabetes mellitus.
3.      Malabsorption syndrome, malnutrition syndrome.
4.      Aggravation of complaints from heavy fatty meals.
5.      Diarrheoa.
6.      Weight loss.
7.      Loss of appetite.
