What is Right way of Consuming Flaxseeds?

Flax seeds are one of oil seeds which are enriched with health benefiting, health improving and health nourishing properties. Flax seeds are one of the type of oil seeds also known as linseed or alsi. They are especially recommended to diabetic and heart disease patients. The ideal quantity which is recommended to eat and required by human body is one tablespoon in powdered form should be sprinkled over your food, your salads, curds, cereal, soups, breads. One tablespoon quantity just sufficient to consume, flax seeds should not be consumed more than this quantity. One teaspoon is just adequate amount required for human body.



Flax seeds can be consumed in various forms, form which best suit, in which its health enriching properties enhance should be used in your food. Flax seeds should be lightly roasted or heated gently so that allergens, contaminants, toxins found on its surface get destroyed. But care should be taken that very light roasting should be done as excess of roasting or heating destroys nutritive elements along with allergens, contaminants and toxins.



Flax seeds should be consumed in powdered form as health nourishing properties of whole seeds are not dormant. When flax seeds are grounded to powdered form these health benefiting properties comes outward.  Just as in powdered form of flax seeds health benefiting properties of seeds gets enhanced, similar thing happens during sprouting. Sprouting flax seeds in water brings out various health nutritive elements to active stage which were earlier was in inactive stage in dried whole flax seeds.

                                                                                                                             
Herbal tea can be made from flax seeds. Flax seed tea enriched with nutritive elements, medicinal properties can prevent and cure infectious diseases. Flax seed oil is another form of flax seed which is devoid of  nutritive elements like fiber. This oil breaks down on heating indicative of its very low shelf life and therefore, is not recommended for cooking.

Flax seed's grounded form is recommended by health experts to be stored in tightly sealed container in  freezer as they get rancid very easily. So, better is to ground only that much quantity of these seeds as much is needed; so that extra wastage can be prevented of left quantity.
