It is caused by hypersecretion of growth hormone from pituitary tumor.
Symptoms-
1. Headache.
2. Thick tongue.
3. Heart disease incidence is increased.
4. Carpel tunnel syndrome.
5. Colonic cancer.
6. Glucose tolerance is impaired in acromegaly.
7. Increased sweating.
8. Liver is enlarged.
9. There is high blood pressure.
Investigations-
1. Oral glucose tolerance test.
2. Prolactin concentrations.
Management-
1. Surgery.
2. Medicines.
3. Radiotherapy.
