Dyspepsia


Dyspepsia is a syndrome which includes following set of gastrointestinal symptoms for example-


1.      Upper abdominal pain, gastro-oesophageal reflux and anorexia.
2.      Nausea and vomiting.
3.      Flatulence, early satiety after meals.
 

Types-

1.      Ulcer dyspepsia.
2.      Non-ulcer dyspepsia.
3.      Flatulent dyspepsia.

1.      Ulcer dyspepsia-
Ulcer dyspepsia is that type of dyspepsia which includes dyspeptic symptoms along with peptic ulcer symptoms.

2.      Non-ulcer dyspepsia-
Non-ulcer dyspepsia also known as functional dyspepsia. In it there is no particular cause has been known for its causation.

3.      Flatulent dyspepsia-
Flatulent dyspepsia is that type of dyspepsia which occurs due to functional disorders of gastro-intestinal tract and in which the symptoms of flatulence predominate than other symptoms.


Causes-

1.      Functional disorders of gastro-intestinal tract.
2.      Peptic ulcer.
3.      Gastro-oesophagel reflux disease.
4.      Stomach cancer.
5.      Lactose intolerance.
6.      Crohn’s disease.
7.      Renal failure.
8.      Anxiety.
9.      Side effects of some drugs.
