Non Ulcer Dyspepsia


Non ulcer dyspepsia also known as functional dyspepsia is that type of dyspepsia whose cause is not identified on various laboratory investigations and on clinical examination. It occurs in females of young age group whose age is less than forty years.


Symptoms-

1.      Abdominal pain, nausea and flatulent abdomen after meals.
2.      Abdominal pain and nausea on waking in the morning.
3.      Irritable bowel syndrome.
4.      Stress and anxiety.
5.      Weight loss, dysphagia.

Investigations-

1.      TLC, DLC test.
2.      RBC count test.
3.      ESR test.
4.      Stool test.
5.      Liver function tests.
6.      Barium meal test.
7.      Endoscopy.
8.      Non-invasive tests for Helicobacter pylori.
